Stanislas Lemaire was born on January 3, 1882, and baptized the same day at the Saint-Bonaventure-d’Upton parish church in Yamaska County, Quebec. He was the son of Julie Lemire and Vincent Lemaire, a farmer and school board trustee. Stanislas had five brothers and four sisters, including two who became nuns.

Stanislas Lemaire was fatherless when, at the age of 19, he married Ernestine Lavallée on August 20, 1901, in his native parish.

The couple settled in Trois-Rivières. In 1921, the family lived at 88, rue Saint-Charles. Stanislas and his eldest son, Adolphe, were workers at the paper press. The couple’s other children were Gertrude, Robert, Fernande, Vincent, and Georges.

Stanislas Lemaire died in 1956.
