FATHER GASTON PETIT’S CHALICE AND PATEN

This chalice and paten were liturgical objects that belonged to Father Gaston Petit.

Gaston Petit, a former student of the Séminaire Saint-Joseph de Trois-Rivières, conventum of 1951, was born in Shawinigan in 1930.

A Dominican father, Gaston Petit has worked in Japan since 1966 and devoted himself to an art strongly inspired by the East and his adopted country.

He has donated several of his works to the Musée Pierre-Boucher. In his honour, the museum has named one of its galleries after him.
