ERNESTINE LAVALLÉE

Ernestine Lavallée was born in 1880 in Saint-Bonaventure-d’Upton, a municipality located between Pierreville and Drummondville, Quebec.

She was of legal age when she married Stanislas Lemaire at her native parish church on August 20, 1901. Her parents, Joseph Lavallée, a labourer, and Arline Janelle had left to live in the United States after 1891. Since they lived in Manchester, they could not attend their daughter’s wedding ceremony. Napoléon Lachapelle, a friend, acted as a witness for the bride.

The couple had four sons and two daughters.

Ernestine Lavallée died in April 1970.
