Born in 1553, Henry de Bourbon was assassinated in 1610 in Paris. King of Navarre from June 1572 under the name Henry III, he became king of France under the name Henry IV from 1589 until his death. He was given the nickname Henry the Great. He was the grandfather of Louis XIV.
